Sedona Housing & Transportation

Sedona is 120 miles north of Phoenix at an elevation of 4,500 feet. It is high desert and we can usually expect days to be sunny and warm with cool evenings. Sedona has a very special and unique energy that makes unexplained phenomena commonplace, and for this reason it has attracted many people with these interests. It is certainly a special place to do spiritual classes, and makes the process of releasing and opening much easier. For its size, Sedona has more metaphysical stores, centers, groups and activities than any other town in North America. There are also interesting sites nearby such as Montuzuma’s Castle, the Meteor Crater, and the Grand Canyon, which are all within 130 miles. You may want to spend extra time in the area to take advantage of all it offers.

The retreats are held at the Best Western Inn of Sedona on Hwy 89A. The first meeting usually starts the first day at 1:30 p.m. We usually break for lunch each day between 12:30 – 3:00. The afternoon sessions are 3:00 - 6:30.

HOUSING: There are other housing options in Sedona you may be able to find through your travel agent or the internet. Room prices are higher on weekends than during the week, so ask for a weekly rate. Some motels have refrigerators in rooms and some offer breakfasts. Be sure to ask. There are also Bed & Breakfasts, and RV and camping facilities. Be sure you inquire on how far they are from the Best Western, because some motels and resorts listed in the Chamber of Commerce directory are quite a long drive from where we are holding the retreat.  Also, the prices quoted in the Chamber of Commerce publications may be a little lower than what they actually are. You can obtain a complete list of all the hotels, motels and bed and breakfast facilities by mail or fax by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 800-288-7336, or on their internet site at www.sedonachamber.com. Click on Tourism Information at the top, and then Visitor Information in the drop-down menu, then Where to Stay on the left side of the page. They have a lot of information on their website, so spend a little time looking around.

There is a Sedona-Phoenix shuttle that goes from the Phoenix airport to motels in Sedona. It runs every two hours from the airport starting at 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. $30 one way. Drive time is 2¼ hours. Be sure to ask at which hotels it stops. Their phone number is 928-282-2066, or in Arizona, 800-448-7988. If you don’t have a car available in Sedona, inquire at your hotel about the trolley that circles from Oak Creek to Sedona every two hours. There are many restaurants in and around Sedona, and participants who don’t have cars can eat at the hotel restaurant where the classes are or easily ride elsewhere with those attending the workshop who do have cars. The most convenient arrangement would be to rent a car in Phoenix, but it is not necessary. Please let us know if you have other questions, or if you would like us to help you connect with others attending to share a car or room. Call Jackie at 1-800-265-4213. We look forward to seeing you very soon, and having a wonderful retreat.
